Breaking the ice
With a Polar Class 6 rating, a strengthened hull, and machinery developed to meet the requirements of polar expeditions, Hawk Quest can enter waters with sea ice up to 80cm thick.
REINFORCED HULL
The reinforced hull has thicker plates and narrower frame spacing at the bow and around the waterline to protect against ice interaction.
OVERSIZED PROPELLERS & MACHINERY
All yacht machinery has been developed to meet the requirements of ice interaction and polar expeditions.
HIGHLY MANOEUVRABLE
With electric stern and bow thrusters, twin engines - each connected to fixed pitch propellers in a twin screw configuration, and with becker rudders, Hawk Quest will be highly manoeuvrable and able to operate in tight passages and around icebergs.
